The Week in Review

So, the first thing I would like to do is to publicly apologize to Ercole for forgetting his birthday. Yes, I know, what kind of friend am I forgetting my best friend's birthday... I've got no excuses. I just noticed right now when I saw the date at the bottom being the 5th. I really wasn't aware of the date. FUCK ME.

So this is a new feature in the blog, "The Week in Review" (as seeing that I didn't write anything for the whole week). Well, to be honest I don't know if I can be bothered to write an entry for each date anymore, so you might see a lot of WiR entries at the end of the week. Unless something really special happens.

So I really don't remember what I did each of the days, but I can guess quite accurately. On Monday I'm pretty sure I stayed in to watch a film. I remember that the sink had a bunch of nasty looking water in it, and I said "I wonder what the hell's at the bottom..." and Ryan replied "... a small baby..." and I just cracked up. Talk about random... and wrong!

On Tuesday I went to watch the Newcastle Vipers play Cardiff Devils at the Arena. It was the second leg of the semifinal of the cup (unlike in football, the cup here means something) and the score had been 2-2 in the first leg (at Cardiff). It was a really good game, much better than the first one I watched, but we lost 1-0, which meant we were dumped from the cup. I was gutted for the next hour or so, then I forgot lol. Good entertainment, though... especially when it's free lol. Don't know how many more times I'll be able to get in free, though... but at least it's not too expensive, much cheaper than football tickets.

And now that I say football, I went to watch Middlesbrough play Crystal Palace (for the Carling Cup) in Middlesbrough on Wed. Three of us travelled down on the train and we had a great time. Middlesbrough won, though (we were Palace fans for that day), but it was great fun. It was amazing to be at the Riverside Stadium... awesome. And Viduka scored a cracker, too, so that was one of the best experiences so far. On the way back we had a good time "singing" and asking for a free sandwich in the train. We ended up with free peanuts... not quite sandwiches, but hey, it was free. And while I'm still talking about football, I managed to get tickets to watch Newcastle play Arsenal this upcoming weekend (got some "insider information" and ran to St. James' to get them). How amazing is that? It only took me two months to be able to watch a game at St. James'... and it will be a good one (I hope)!

So on Thursday I stayed in. I watched part of the Led Zeppelin DVD... just amazing. It's my holy grail. And now I remember what I did on Monday: watch the AC/DC DVD. It was also good, but you can't beat Zeppelin. I only managed to watch one of the concerts, though... but still, I watched it completely on the weekend.

So on Friday I went to Leeds for a Rock Soc pub crawl. Great time. Got smashed, which is really odd because I drank more than I usually do in Newcastle (and more than I have ever done in Newcastle, I think) even though I had to travel back. But that wasn't a problem, as I fell asleep as soon as I got on the bus, not joking. One second I was on the coach and the other we were in Newcastle. I was lucky, though, as the coach almost left without me. I decided to get some food with a Computer Science PhD student and his girl and we arrived 10 mins late... and I'm still not sure why they waited for us, but well... at least I got a huge ovation once I got in the coach (I know it was sarcastic, okay? I wasn't that smashed).

Sunday I stayed in for the exception of two hours when I went to watch Man Utd hammer Portsmouth (hey, gotta take advantage of that... it's perhaps the only time this season I'll be able to say something like that). Anyway, I actually did some work because I was feeling guilty and then I watched more of my holy grail.
