Sweet Emotion

Go on, sing it... you know you want to...

I know I am.

Met my deadline for my Java project... by quite a lot of time (7 hours) but that doesn't mean I didn't bust my arse off. Worked for the past four days on that stupid thing, and worked until 5 in the morning last night/today to get it all finished. 15 pages total. Damn...

Anyway, seeing I now have some free time (until Sunday when I have to start the PHP project due Wednesday) I thought I'd post an update. I've seen quite a few things and I've written them down, so they'll be in bullet form.

What do you think of the name William Shatner? I think it's hilarious... if you remember Rodrigo correcting us all with the past tense of shit (he kept on saying it was shat) then this will be very funny to you. I wonder how he made it through high school... I'm sure that if he'd been in my high school he would've been my best friend. Then, after gaining his trust I would destroy his self-esteem by making fun of his last name. Billy Shatner. Apuesto a que tiene el culo flojo... if you know what I mean. Don't ask how it happened, I don't know and I don't want to know.

By the way, I found out that there is not only one Hell here in Newcastle, but there are at least two. While walking towards the uni from my flat one day, James noticed that there was another door labled "Hell" practically right outside my flat. I knew I was feeling odd things... now I know. I've got to try and break in before the term is over to see what's in there. What's the worst thing that can happen? I'll go to Hell... well, I'm already there!

I went to the main library with Ryan because he had to check out a book (can you believe I haven't checked out a single book all year from the main library? I've only used the CS library) and there was this sign on a shelf: "WARNING: Thieves operating in this area". That's a bit strange, isn't it? It makes you think that the thieves are working for the university... ya es el colmo.

I was watching the footy match at the pub (that dreadful day when Chelski beat Man Utd 3-0 to win the Prem and Rooney got injured (and he'll miss the World Cup due to that injury)... that was the worst possible outcome I could've gotten from a match, fuck me) and these protesters started walking outside (you know, on the road). I sort of keep an eye on them to see what they're protesting about and I see a couple of human rights posters and stuff... but then I see a Vzlan flag. Yes, that's right. I was shocked. I'm not sure if it was a proper flag (seven stars) or a cheap immitation (eight stars, one for Cuba... note: at least we have a star for Cuba, which means that they're our bitches instead of the other way around... even if it really isn't that way), but it was definitely a Vzlan flag. I wanted to go out just to see what the hell was going on, but by the time I was over the initial shock they had left. Hmm... makes me wonder. For a moment I thought Chavez had been brutally murdered and they were celebrating the rebirth of human rights... dream on. (See what I've done? Ended two consecutive seconds with parts of songs)

I can "proudly" say that I've found a white Carrillo. I don't know if he's as eccentric as the real one, or speaks as funny as the real one, but he looks JUST the same, but white. I was walking back to the flat and happened to glance at someone standing to my left and for a few seconds I thought Carrillo had tracked me down, but then I realised that he was too white to be the real one. But dude... even the wannabe moustache!

They're carrying out works on the street that leads to the uni from my flat. They're (for some reason) sanding it all up, very neatly, but I dont' know why. Perhaps you do because you're smarter than I am, but to me it makes no sense. Anyway, somebody was witty enough to paint "WARNING: Quicksand" at the beginning of the sanding thing. They also made it look like a real warning, so at first glance you kind of fall for it (you know, until you read "quicksand"). Hats off the the vandal.

Today, as I was walking back after handing in my project, I ran into a treat. Since the days have been very nice and warm (19 degrees as I speak... two days ago it went up to 21 degrees) people just lay outside and stuff... don't really do anything, but they lay in the sun. I've been tempted to, but I really can't be bothered as sunny days aren't that much of a novelty to me. When asked why I don't go out, I just tell them "the sun, it's overrated... plus, I get 96% of the days sunny in Venezuela" and they swear at me and walk away. (Note: for some reason, I seem to have sold Vzla quite well to my flatmates (even if I haven't intended to)... they all want to come back for the holidays!) Even if I wanted to be out, though, I've been busy at work with the stupid project, so I've been missing out on the good days here in England. Anyway, I digress. There were a bunch of people sitting on the grass in the quadrangle, and I happen to look up for steps, and I look right into panties. Yes. There was this (fit) girl lying on the grass with her... erm, feet looking my way (well, pretty much in the way of everyone who walks the quadrangle). I was... hmmm... delighted. I only took a 4 second peep, though... I wasn't about to just stand there and look, as much as I wanted to.

So well, I'm free. I've finished my first project and now I get to go on a pub crawl today (that was actually my motivation to get the project done yesterday). The pub crawl starts at 2 in the afternoon and goes on until 3 in the morning. It's gonna be a fucking blast. Then tomorrow I'll have to recover from the hangover and on Sunday I'm back to work. But I'm off the the pub crawl! Updates sometime soon (if I make it back alive)! Thanks for reading!
