Bumble Bee Beer

So I'm out today doing all the things I should've done during my three month break and a few things catch my eye. The first was an AA centre... I honestly didn't know that existed here. I remember my mum telling me a while ago that some place was by the AA, but I thought that it was a place where drunkards got together to drink (and didn't give their names out). But no, it's a proper AA, much to my surprise (according to the description they have on their banner).

Now, the second thing that caught my eye was the vehicle parked outside the AA. A Polar (beer) delivery truck. Hmmm... that makes sense. You see, the way AA works here is you sober up for a month, and then to celebrate that month of sobreity you get pissed with your AA mates. Then you start that vicious cycle over again. So you see... I was right with my first thoughts about AA in Venezuela.

The second thing I noticed was unnatural. We're heading over the Las Chimeneas (The Chimneys :P ) and there's a triple crash. To the right there's this car (sorry, I'm helpless with car types and brands) sandwiched between another car and a big truck (the truck in front). Needless to say the car in the middle was a horrific wreck. Then to the right (on the other intersecting lane) there was another treble. I didn't get to see this one in detail as I had spent most of my time checking out the other one (you know it's natural... everyone does it, hence why there are always jams when there are crashes... that and because nobody fucking cleans up!). I'm sure it was another three-car collision, though (the driver pointed that out). Then as we keep pushing forward there's another crash--this one between a car backing out from the lane with the previous crash and a car coming in that way. There's a possibility it could've been another triple crash, but I'm not sure (but I hope it was!). So there you have it, a hat-trick of treble crashes. What are the odds? Now, think of it... what are the odds that they all happened simultaneously? How kickarse would that be? (Yes, I am aware that the third crash happened as an effect to the second one, but hey, let's just have fun and not think about that!)

Now let's really play with odds. What are the odds those three crashes happened because the AA drunkards had just left their monthly anniversary party?

Hot Summer Night

Yes, I finally imported the blog... been meaning to do so for a while, but you know how it is... I'm lazy. And in case you are wondering... yes, I did quote Meat-fucking-Loaf. So what? He can't sue me now because I gave him credit.

So I'm supposed to be packing and arrainging stuff and you know... all that crap you do when you're due to travel. Yet I'm on Facebook killing time. It seems that's the only time when I'm there--when I've got something else to do. Throughout the three months of summer that I had nothing to do I perhaps visited Facebook 3 times (to check through, anyway... I logged in quite a bit more times just to poke people because that's what I do--poke. And there's nothing wrong with that, people love to poke! Poking is natural and it's a beautiful action.) and I didn't even go through profiles.

Now, like when I had my exams, I'd rather hang out there posting silly posts (see? that's what I'm talking about!? And this is decent for the stuff I've posted there...) than get down to business. But it worked quite well with my exams, so hopefull it'll work out fine now.

When I look back at this summer, I can only sum it up with two words: "miserable failure". And no, that's not because I decided to invade a country for oil (Venezuela already has oil... sort of... let's just say Venezuela and Cuba have oil) but because I don't think I got anything done. Just to put things in perspective: I broke my Tab key about a month into the summer and with less than a week to go I still haven't gotten it fixed. What a productive life I'm leading, eh?

Anyway, that's all over now. From disturbing welcomes with drunkards and policemen to Santana Nights to driving around the city drunk looking for money to pay our excessive bar tab, I can say that it has definitely been an eventfull summer. Perhaps not in terms of productivity, but definitely in terms memory-making. Not sure how much companies will dig into this whole memory-making summer shit, but it was something I had to do. Now it'll be my job to make myself useful in the real world.

I will not be coming back to Venezuela in December nor the next Summer, and to be honest I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. So well, to those of you who have already left without saying goodbye (Erc you bastard) and not to Tiny who doesn't care enough to drop his old friends a line, I say we'll figure something out. And to those of you who are still here, we'll deal with it appropriately.

Now I've got to go because I really have loads of things to do before Sunday. Plus, I wanna be able to watch the Champions League matches today and tomorrow, so that means more work during the mornings. I mean, for real, I don't want to forget my money and find out at the airport... again!
